Deployed as an attacking midfielder or a winger, Lallana currently plays for Southampton and the England national football team. Moving from Bournemouth to Southampton in 2000, he became a professional in 2006 before helping the team promote from League One to Premier League and captained the team in 2012. After two seasons in the top flight and an international breakthrough, he signed for Liverpool for an undisclosed fee in July 2014. The midfielder was given his senior international debut for England in 2013 and was chosen for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He became a member of the Bournemouth Centre of Excellence, where he was spotted by a talent scout from Southampton and joined Saints academy in 2000. Lallana was involved in Southampton's FA Youth Cup squads of 2004-05 and 2005-06 where they reached the final and semi-final respectively.
